Terms of Service

Welcome to 4simpleproblems (4SP). By accessing or using our website, tools, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, then you may not access the website or use any services.

1. User Responsibility & Conduct

You are solely responsible for your conduct and any data, text, information, graphics, photos, profiles, audio, and video clips ("Content") that you submit, post, and display on the 4SP service.

  • You must not use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • You must not modify, adapt, or hack the service to falsely imply association with 4SP.
  • You must not transmit worms, viruses, or destructive code.
  • You must not violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including copyright laws).

2. Feature-Specific Disclaimers

Dailyphoto (User Generated Content)

The "Dailyphoto" feature allows users to upload images. 4simpleproblems is NOT responsible for the content uploaded by users. We do not claim ownership of your content, but by uploading, you grant us a license to display it. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms without prior notice.

Soundboard Usage

The Soundboard contains various audio clips, some of which may be loud or disruptive. 4simpleproblems accepts no liability for disciplinary actions, detentions, suspensions, or other consequences resulting from the misuse of this feature in educational, professional, or public environments. Use at your own risk.

Settings & Utilities (Panic Key, URL Changer)

Features such as the "Panic Key" and "Tab Disguiser" are privacy tools provided for user convenience. Users are responsible for adhering to the Acceptable Use Policies of their respective networks. 4SP is not liable for violations of local network policies committed using these tools.

3. Administration & Governance

The Creator and Owner of 4simpleproblems (4simpleproblems@gmail.com) retains absolute authority over the platform.

  • The Owner reserves the right to grant, revoke, or modify Administrator privileges at any time without notice.
  • Administrators have the authority to ban users, delete content, and manage site features.
  • Banned users are prohibited from accessing the platform. Attempting to circumvent a ban may result in further action.
  • The Owner is not liable for actions taken by appointed Administrators.

4. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall 4simpleproblems be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

Data Handling

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This policy details exactly how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account Information (Google Firebase)

When you sign in, we collect and store:

  • • Email address
  • • Display name/Username
  • • Unique user identifier (UID)
  • • Profile picture URL

B. Analytics (Google Analytics)

To understand usage, we may collect:

  • • IP address and general location
  • • Browser type and device info
  • • Page visit duration

C. Internal Analytics

We use an internal tracking system to improve site navigation and content. This system records:

  • • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • • Session duration
  • • Timestamps of activity

This data is stored securely in our Firestore database and is used solely for site improvement.

D. User Content

Content you explicitly generate (Dailyphotos, comments, friend requests) is stored in our database and associated with your account.

2. Local Storage & IndexedDB

Certain features store data locally on your device. This data is NOT sent to our servers unless explicitly uploaded (e.g. during an export/import).

  • Notes App: Written notes are stored locally.
  • Settings: Themes, Panic Keys, and Tab Disguiser settings.
  • Personalization: Mibi Avatar configurations.
  • Countdowns: Saved countdown timers.

3. Third-Party Services

Our website interacts with third-party APIs:

  • Weather API: Used to display weather data.
  • Dictionary API: Used for definitions.

These sites have independent privacy policies. We are not liable for their content or activities.

4. Data Security & Deletion

We use Google Firebase to secure your data. You have the right to delete your account at any time via the Settings page. Deleting your account removes authentication credentials, though some logs may remain in backups for a limited period.
